STAMFORD, Conn. -- Gerard Howard, 86, of Stamford, passed away peacefully Friday July 10, 2015 at Stamford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Howard was born Nov. 13, 1928, in Liverpool, England, to the late James and Mary McLaughlin Howard. He was a former member of the Bruce Park Lawn Bowling Club.
Howard is survived by his wife Mary Power Howard of Stamford, his two daughters; Ann Marie Eisdorfer and her husband Scott of Trumbull and Debbie Parrish and her husband Scott of Stamford, his three sons; Paul Howard of Newtown, Gerard P. Howard of Newport, R.I. and Philip Howard and his wife Lisa of Laguna Niguel, Calif., his brother Laurence Howard and his wife Eileen, of the United Kingdom, as well as his 10 grandchildren, Nicole, James, Douglas, Meredith, Christopher, Jonathan, Eric, Emily, Ann Marie and Jason and his great granddaughter Mary.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Frank and Harold Howard and his sisters Elizabeth Blanchard and Margaret Mitchell.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at noon Friday at Holy Spirit RC Church, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108.
