George T. Searles, Jr., 53, Formerly Of Stamford, Retired Police Officer

MONROE, Conn. - George Thomas Searles Jr., formerly of Stamford and more recently of Monroe, died Oct. 31. He was 53.

Searles graduated from Stamford High School in 1978, attended Denver Automotive and Ohio Diesel Tech Trade Schools and then had a 22 year career as a Stamford police officer. Following his retirement from the police department, he went on to work for Brennan Construction and Nagy Brothers as a driver.

Searles is survived by his parents, Frances Casciari Searles and George Searles Sr.; brother, John Searles (Bonnie); sister, Mary Searles (fiance, Michael Allegrini); nephews and nieces; and companion, Maryann Minervino.

There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at St. Jude's Church, 707 Monroe Tpke., Monroe, with a luncheon to follow immediately at The Stone Barn, Rte 110, Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA in Searles’ name.
