Florence DiVasto, 90, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. – Florence T. DiVasto, wife of the late Joseph Paul DiVasto, of Stamford, died Wednesday, March 9 at Norwalk Hospital. She was 90.

She was born March 5, 1926, in Greenwich. She was the daughter of the late Philomenia and Patsy Figliola.

She attended Greenwich High School and moved to Stamford when she got married. She was a very active mother and grandmother. She worked later on in her life as a caretaker for young children, including her granddaughter.

She is survived by daughters, JoAnne Fisher of Wilton and Lynda DiVasto of Guilford; one granddaughter, Lyndsay Coppola of Wilton; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jacquelyn Coppola of Wilton; and her sister, Nelly Ferraris of Ridgefield.

In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Ioli and Pat Figliola.

There will no public visitation prior to the funeral. Friends and family are invited for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 229 Danbury Road, Wilton. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Arrangements are in the care of Collins Funeral Home.
