Firefighter Edward C. Palitz, 68, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. - Edward C. Palitz Sr. of Stamford died Tuesday, Dec. 31. He was 68.

Palitz was the son of John Palitz and Margaret (Bella) Palitz. He was a lifelong resident of Stamford, a firefighter at Glenbrook Fire Department for more than 30 years and chief engineer.

Palitz is survived by his wife, Paula Palitz; daughter, Carla Palitz DeLeo; son, Edward Palitz Jr.; brother, John S. G. Palitz; and three grandchildren.

A tribute to his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford. A prayer service will begin at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stamford Firefighters Burn Foundation, Attn: D/C Conroy, 629 Main St., Stamford, CT 06901.
