Eleanor Jean Kohn, 71, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Eleanor Jean Kohn, 71, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Friday, April 4, from pulmonary fibrosis.

She was born in Stamford on Aug. 17, 1943, to Marguerite and Edward Grant.

She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in English. She worked as a programmer/analyst for many years and was employed by Olin Corporation, Clairol, Xerox and Pitney-Bowes. After retiring, she worked as church secretary for St. Maurice Church in Stamford.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, George; and a sister, Deborah Short.

She was predeceased by two sisters, sisters Karen Mehrtens and Mary McClure.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road in Stamford. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Camp Avenue, Darien.
