Edward J. Svec, Jr., 79, Formerly Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Edward J. Svec. Jr., of Norwalk and formerly of Stamford, died on June 4 at his home. He was 79.

Svec was born on May 31, 1937 in Stamford to Edward and Helen Murphy Svec, graduating from Stamford High School and Bridgeport University.

He worked for Chase Packaging Company in Greenwich and Monsanto Corporation.

Svec was predeceased by his parents and sister Patricia Svec Barton.

He is survived by his wife Katherine, son Kimball, daughter Leslie Tarasyuk, brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Julia Svec, sister Joan Svec Nickerson and her husband Jack, three grandchildren, two stepdaughters, Carol Ann and Elaine Falkenberg, son-in-law Charles Goodrich and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon at Collins Funeral Home, located at 92 East Avenue in Norwalk.

Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. at St. John Cemetery, located at 223 Richards Avenue in Norwalk.

In lieu, memorial donations can be made to Whittingham Cancer Center, 30 Stevens Street, Norwalk, CT 06856.
