Edward Guider, 91, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Edward R. Guider, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died on Monday, March 2, at Stamford Hospital.

Guider was born on Jan. 10, 1924 to the late Frank and Katherine Guider.

He graduated from Stamford High School in 1941 and worked as a senior engineer for Southern New England Telephone Company.

Guider served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth, and daughter, Deborah.

Guider was predeceased his brother, Theodore.

Visitation is at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street in Stamford on Friday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
