Dr. Philip A. Miolene, 79, Of Stamford, Orthodontist

STAMFORD, Conn. - Dr. Philip A. Miolene ("Phil") of Stamford died July 25. He was 79.

Dr. Miolene was born Sept. 29, 1933, in New Haven, to John and Nancy Miolene. He obtained a Master of Arts from Yale University in 1956, a Doctorate in Dental Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1960, and a graduate degree in Orthodontics from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1967.

He served as a captain in the United States Army in Okinawa, Japan from 1960 to 63. He resided in Stamford for the last 46 years, maintaining an orthodontics practice there until the time of his death. He has been a member of the Connecticut State Dental Association since 1965 and served as president of the Stamford Dental Society from 1974 to 76. He was involved with The Sterling Farms Theatre, acting and singing in numerous dramas and musicals.

Dr. Miolene is survived by his wife, Regina; sons, Philip J. Miolene (Marlena), Paul Miolene (Leanne), John Miolene; daughter, Elizabeth Gallagher (Dennis); six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Louise Patti; and brother, John Miolene.

Calling hours are Monday, July 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer St., in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 at St. Maurice Church 258 Glenbrook Road in Stamford. Burial will be private.
