STAMFORD, Conn. – Dorothy Hope (Edelman) Lilien, of Stamford, died on Jan. 17 of breast cancer. She was 69.
Lilien was born on Sept. 8, 1946, to Nathaniel and Anne Edelman. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz and Columbia University and going on to work as a children's librarian at the New York Public Library.
She went back to the workforce after becoming a mother, working at Centre for Travel in State College, Pa., as a travel agent.
Lilien was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1979, but went on to travel the world and work for Centre for Travel until recently.
She was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Gary; daughter Amy Lilien-Harper and her husband Glenn Harper; two granddaughters; sister Marcie Natan; and brother Richard Edelman.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. at Temple Sinai, 458 Lakeside Drive, Stamford.
