Doris F. Daniels, 91, Assistant Teacher, Stamford Public School System

STAMFORD, Conn. - Doris F. Daniels, a longtime resident of Stamford, died Sept. 27. She was 91.

Daniels was born Dec. 7, 1921, to Harry and Marie Fisher. She attended Hunter College. She met and married Sandy, in New Rochelle, settling first in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., before relocating to Stamford in 1955. She later worked for the Stamford Public School System as a teacher assistant for over 30 years.

Daniels is survived by her son, Glenn Daniels of Jeffersonville, Vt.; daughters, Elizabeth Daniels of Chico, Calif., Jane Spiller of Stamford; son, George A. Daniels III of Sandy Hook; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Daniels, Jr. (Sandy); and daughter, Barbara Daniels Svenson.

Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer St. in Stamford.
