STAMFORD, Conn. - Courtney Watson, of Stamford, native of Greenwich, died Thursday, March 14. He was 47.
Watson was born in Jamaica and raised in Greenwich. He was a graduate of Greenwich High School and later received his Associates Degree from Westchester Business Institute.
As a young man, he earned his Eagle Scout badge as a member of the Troop 6 in Greenwich and worked as a counselor for the Greenwich Boys Club and at The Community Centers, Inc. of Greenwich (CCI).
In his adult years, he worked as purchasing manager at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich for more than 20 years.
Watson is survived by his mother, Jennifer; daughter Lonita; sisters, Sharon Brown, Sonia Woolery of Riverside, Angela Chambers of Manhattan; brother, Michael Chambers of Stamford; two nephews and nieces; an aunt; many family members in Jamaica.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich, 38 West End Ave., Old Greenwich, CT 06870.
