Cornelia Reddington Meres, 91, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. - Cornelia Reddington Meres, a resident of Stamford, died Saturday, Sept. 6. She was 91.

Meres was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Mount Kisco, N.Y., to James and Catherine (Mahoney) Reddington. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Katonah, N.Y., and Katherine Gibbs Business College and attended the University of Connecticut for two years, studying as a watercolor artist.

She worked as an executive secretary at Hewitt Robbins Corp. in Stamford and was an administrative assistant at Westhill High School, also in Stamford. She volunteered at the Center for Hope in Darien and the former St. Joseph's Hospital.

Meres is survived by her son, Lawrence R. Meres of North Salem, N.Y.; sister, Honor P. Condit of Rensselar, N.Y.; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Lloyd M. Meres; sons, Gary A. Meres and Lloyd R. Meres; and sister, Joan M. Golden.

Calling hours are Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
