STAMFORD, Conn. - Clement Kenrick “Jack” Bellairs III of Stamford died Monday, June 9. He was 92.

Bellairs was born May 19, 1922, in Stamford, to Clement Kenrick Bellairs Jr and Catherine Russo Bellairs. He was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1940, and then attended New York University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy at the age of 19 in July 1942.

After serving in two consecutive wars, he returned to work with the New York-New Haven and Hartford Railroad, becoming a shop assistant manager at Conrail for 42 years until his retirement in 1982. He then went to work at Stamford Boats.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Veterans and the Eastside Cardinal Club.

Bellairs is survived by his wife, Marie “Peggy”Signorile Bellairs of Stamford; children, Jacqueline B. Arcano, Clem Bellairs IV, Michael Bellairs and Roula Jordanides Bellairs; five grandchildren; and friend, Robin Artz. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Kenrick M. Bellairs; sisters, Mary Coyle and Jean Stobbie; and son-in-law, Frank Arcano Jr.

Calling hours are Thursday, June 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory , 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A procession will leave the funeral home Friday, June 13, at 11:10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at noon at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
