Claire F. Roman, 62, Former Stamford Resident

STRATFORD, Conn. - Claire F. Roman of Stratford died Tuesday, Nov. 26. She was 62.

Roman was born April 3, 1951, in Stamford; daughter of Charles and Agnes Troost. She attended Rogers School and Stratford High, graduating as valedictorian from Rippowam. Her contributions to the Church included running the bingo at St. Benedict's and catechist aide at Holy Name in Stamford. She retired after working at H & L Chevrolet in Darien, and Shoprite in Stamford.

Roman is survived by her daughters, Cathy Portillo of New Haven and Marion Rodriguez of Stratford; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; sister, Marion Lowman of Southbury; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Our Lady of Grace Parish 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private.
