Celesta Cardillo, 91, Of Stamford, Retired Clairol Employee

STAMFORD, Conn. - Celesta Cardillo of Stamford died Sunday, Aug. 11. She was 91.

Cardillo was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Calabritto, Italy, to Michael Angelo and Rosina Parisi. She was employed at Clairol for 20 years before her retirement in 1984. She was also a member of the Senior Group at St. Mary’s RC Church.

Cardillo is survived by her son, Arthur M. Cardillo (Cheryl) of Stratford; daughter, Lydia C. Moccia (Albert) of Stamford; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Frank A. Cardillo; and brother, Tony Parisi.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902.  A funeral procession will leave Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 9:40 a.m. from the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cardillo’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105.
