STAMFORD, CONN. - Cecilia M. "Ceil" Ottaviano, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, April 25 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York. She was 88.
Ottaviano was born March 29, 1927, in Stamford, to Samuel and Maria E. Turcio Tartaglia, aiding her husband Theodore in their family business, the Post Grocers in Stamford.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister Camille Tartaglia and brothers Ralph and Sam Tartaglia, and is survived by her husband, her children, Joyce Cavaliere and her husband Frank, Connie Vass and her husband Clint and Ted Ottaviano of Brooklyn, her brother David Tartaglia and his wife Carol, sister in laws Maryanne and Sally Tartaglia, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:10 a.m. Thursday for a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery in Darien.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.
