STAMFORD, Conn. -- Carol Schwiebert, of Stamford, died Sunday Sept. 27. She was 81.
She was born on July 27, 1934, in Bridgeport.
She attended Bassick High School and later graduated summa cum laude from Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y.
She worked as an administrative assistant for several area companies, including AMAX Inc. in Greenwich and Towers Perrin in Stamford.
She was a literacy volunteer for many years.
She is survived by daughter Linda Pagano and son-in-law Joseph of Peekskill, N.Y.; and sons Mark W. Schwiebert and daughter-in-law Susan of Farmingdale, N.Y., and Jeffrey E. Schwiebert and his girlfriend Patricia Looney of Norwalk.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Sara Pagano, Joe Pagano, Jonathan Schwiebert, Stephen Schwiebert and Joanie Schwiebert; and her brother Donald R. Wilson of Coal Township, Pa.
She was predeceased by her parents Earl and Loretta Wilson.
A Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at The Basilica of Saint John's the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
