Beverly C. Bongo, 78, Former Stamford Resident

STRATFORD, Conn. - Beverly C. Bongo of Stratford, and a former resident of Stamford, died Monday, Dec. 9. She was 78.

Bongo was born May 4, 1935, in Stamford, to Sterling and Claire (Addie) Aubrey Sturges. She was employed as a technician at Machlett Laboratory of Stamford for many years before her retirement in 1989. She attended Stamford public schools.

Bongo is survived by her husband, Winson M. “Don”Ancrum of Stratford; daughters, Sharon L. Fedele (Richard) of Amityville, N.Y., Linda J. Romaniello (Richard) of Stamford; brother, Sterling Sturges (Judith) of New York; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Victor S. Bongo; and brother, Aubrey Sturges.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Evangelical Community Church of Stamford, 1155 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bongo’s memory to the Evangelical Community Church, 1155 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT 06905.
