STAMFORD, Conn. - Beatrice R. Kivell, a Stamford resident for more than 50 years, died May 21. She was 93.
Kivell was the daughter of Max and Mary Radow, she was raised in the Bronx, N.Y. After graduating from high school, she received a B.S. in Accounting from City College of New York in 1942. Following college, she went to Washington, DC to work for the Federal Office of Lend-Lease during World War II. In 1956, she moved with her husband to Stamford. She was a member of the American Association of University Women. She returned to school to earn a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport. She worked as a teacher in both Connecticut and New York prior to her retirement.
Kivell is survived by her sons, Edward Kivell (Carol) of Stamford, Michael Kivell (Britta) of Easton, and Martin Kivell of Stamford; three grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Saul Kivell; and brother, Seymour Radow of Atlantic Beach, N.Y.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23 at Loyalty Cemetery, 172 Burroughs Road Fairfield. Shiva will be observed at the home of Michael Kivell, following the service until sundown, Saturday, May 24 from 8 to 10 p.m., Sunday, May 25 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 27 from 6 to 9 p.m.
