Aurelio Giamba, 74, Of Stamford; Owned Tailor Shop In Greenwich

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Aurelio Giamba, 74, of Stamford, died Monday, March 2, at Stamford Hospital.

Giamba was born in Italy on July 6, 1940, to the late Guiseppe and Grazia Davino Giamba. Giamba was the proud owner of Aurelio's Tailor Shop on Mason Street, then moved to Greenwich Avenue, before retiring in 2001.

Aurelio is survived by his wife, Raffaela D'Agostino Giamba of Stamford; daughters Marygrace Giamba and Rosemary Giamba of Stamford; brother Tony Giamba of Italy; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Cognetta Funeral Home home Thursday, March 5, from 9-10 a.m. 

A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, on Thursday at 10 a.m. and proceed to St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, 914 Newfield Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60606.
