Attilio Pasqua, 93, Of Stamford, WWII Navy Veteran

STAMFORD, Conn. - Attilio Pasqua of Stamford died Wednesday, Oct. 29. He was 93.

Pasqua was born July 24, 1921, in Stamford, to Ferdinando and Antoinette Mazzucco Pasqua.

He attended Stamford High School, Class of 1941. He played football for the Golden Bears, semi- pro team, Leonard’s Three Gables Softball Team, City Championship Third Base. Attilio also was on St. John’s Lucky Strike Duck Pin League in Shippan and the Visitations Bowling League at Rip Van Winkle Lanes in Norwalk. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he was on a Naval oil tanker in the South Pacific, Philippines, Panama and Iwo Jima.

Pasqua is survived by his wife, Ann M. Jordan of Stamford; daughters, Elaine Knoess of Fla., Joyce Dralle Marciano (Mike) of Stamford; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and brothers, Anthony Pasqua (Lucy) of Stamford and Fred Pasqua (Emily) of New Canaan. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Rose Pasqua,Dominick Pasqua, Mary Morelli, Caroline Orsaia, Pasquale Pasqua; and son-in-law, Richard Knoess.

Calling hours are Saturday, Nov. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
