Arena 'Irene' Breece, 80, Of Stamford; Retail Specialist

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Arena “Irene” Breece, 80, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1936 in Wade, N.C. to the late Willie and Josephine Elliott Breece. For many years until her retirement, Arena worked in the retail industry. Many remember her working for Brands Discount Store on Atlantic Street for 35 years. In addition, she worked for the well-known Wig Store on the same street and her last place of employment was Target.

Arena is survived by one brother, Frank Breece (Betty) of Hope Mills, N.C. and four sisters; Melvina Johnson and Leana Thomas (Robert) both of Fayetteville, N.C.; Allyne McMillian of Bridgeport, Eula Price of Norwalk, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

She was predeceased by her parents Willie and Josephine Breece, six brothers; Raef Breece, Norman Breece, Leamon Breece, Alonzo Breece, Clarence Breece and Earl Breece and two sisters; Georgia Mae English and Hattiebelle Breece.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 20 at noon at the Wilson Memorial Church, 164 Richmond Hill Ave., Stamford. There will be no calling hours and Interment will be private.
