STAMFORD, Conn. – Antonio E. Chiappetta, of Stamford, died Saturday, Jan. 16 at Greenwich Hospital. He was 77.
He was born Oct. 22, 1938, in Rose Calabria, Italy, to the late Domenico and Rosaria Infante Chiappetta. He was a stone mason for 29 years for the Town of Greenwich before retiring in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Dolis Chiappetta, of Stamford; his children Marisa Mancini of Danbury, Domenico Chiappetta of Norwalk and Lorenzo Chiappetta of Bethel; one step-daughter, Dolly Lozada, of Canada; three step-sons Walter and Nelson Munoz of Stamford, and Alexander Munoz of Columbia; one brother, Franco Chiappetta, of Canada; and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother and four sisters.
Family and friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
