STAMFORD, Conn. - Antonia Nuzzi of Stamford died Thursday, Oct. 9. She was 81.
Nuzzi was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Maddalloni, Italy, to Giovanni and Maddalena Merola Leggiero.
Nuzzi is survived by her children, Maddalena Siciliano, Giovanna Pascarella, Andrea Nuzzi all of Stamford and Carmine Nuzzi of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Maria Perrotta of Stamford, Rosa Leggiero of Italy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Pasquale Nuzzi; and sister, Giovanna Leggiero.
Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Putnam Cemetery of Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nuzzi’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I 91 Tech Ctr., Rock Hill, CT 06067.
