Anthony J. Sessa, 61, Of Greenwich, Former Girls Softball Coach

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Anthony J. Sessa, of Greenwich, died on Friday, May 29, 2015. He was 61 years old.

Sessa was born in Stamford on June 21, 1953, to Tony and Nicoletta Barone Sessa.

He was the owner of T. Sessa & Son Plumbing and Heating for 35 years and taught plumbing at J.M. Wright Tech School in Stamford.

He graduated from of Rippowam High School in 1971. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Cos Cob; a trustee at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Greenwich for 18 years; and coached the girls softball team in Greenwich. 

He is survived by his wife, Marianne Furnaros Sessa, of Greenwich; his daughter, Kimberly Joy Sessa, of Greenwich, and her fiancé, Chris Smalley, of Pound Ridge, N.Y.;his sister, Donna Carter and her husband, Jimmy of Massachusetts, his sister-in-law, Karen Furnaros and his father in law Donald Furnaros of Stamford.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich.

There are no calling hours and Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sessa's memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall St., 29th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10005.
