Anna Marie Cipolla, 83, Retired Benefits Administrator, City Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. - Anna Marie Cipolla, longtime resident of Stamford, died Thursday, Oct. 9. She was 83.

Cipolla was born Oct. 30, 1930, in New York, to Michael and Mary (Guarino) Cipolla. Born and raised in New York City, she attended NYC schools and graduated from Julia Richman High School with the class of 1948. Following her schooling she went to work for Dell Publishing Company where she managed their foreign accounts for 13 years. Leaving Dell Publishing, she and her friend, Ann Marble, opened Artists Alley in Old Greenwich, which they owned and operated for 20 years. Following the closure of their business, she went to work for F.D. Rich as a construction clerk for five years, before working for the City of Stamford as a benefits administrator. She was employed in that capacity for 22 years until her retirement in 2010.

Cipolla is survived by her sister, Rosemarie Moynihan; brother, Jasper Cipolla; and nephew and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents; and friend Ann Marble.

Calling hours are Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. A Memorial Service will begin promptly at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
