She was born in Coatesville, Pa. on Jan. 29, 1921 to the late Thomas and Maria Umile. Ann was an employee of the City of Stamford Public School System as well as AT&T and Bloomingdale's.
She is survived by her children: Rosemarie Vaccaro of Stamford; Nicholas J. Vaccaro and his wife, Janet of Stamford; LuAnn Moccia and her husband, Anthony, of Stamford; a sister in Coatesville, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Vaccaro; four brothers; and two sisters.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford.
Interment will follow at St. John's Mausoleum in Darien.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ann's memory to Jewish Family Service of Stamford, 733 Summer St., Stamford, CT 06901.
