Angelo DeBlasi, Of Stamford, 90

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Angelo R. DeBlasi, a Stamford resident, died peacefully Tuesday at Stamford Hospital with his family by his side. He was 90.

DeBlasi was born in Stamford on June 26, 1924 to the late Ralph and Olympia Coppolo DeBlasi. DeBlasi was an avid crossword puzzle player.

DeBlasi is survived by his daughter, Angela Strazza and her husband Tony of Stamford, his sons, Nicholas DeBlasi of Stamford and Ralph DeBlasi and his wife Gina of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Anthony, Melissa, Michael and David and one great-granddaughter, Aahna, also survive him.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Esposito DeBlasi, and his two sisters, Antionette Ciliberto and Angie Cucco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Mary's RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford, CT 06902.
