Angelina A. Verrastro, 96, Retired Stamford Public Schools Employee

STAMFORD, Conn. - Angelina A. Verrastro, 96, of Stamford, died Saturday, March 14.

She was born Jan. 28, 1919, in the Bronx, to Salvatore and Felicia Caiazza.

During World War II, Verrastro assembled aircraft transformers for United Transformer Co. to support the war effort.

She also worked in the Stamford Public Schools for 30 years at Stark Elementary until retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Frank and Salvatore Verrastro; one daughter, Marie (Patrick) Conetta; and three grandchildren.

Her husband, Angelo J. Verrastro; two sisters, Frances (Alfred) Bianchi and Josephine (Pasquale) Sepe; and two brothers, Nicholas Caiazza and Dominick (Louise) Caiazza, preceded her in death.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, Conn..

Interment will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Darien.
