STAMFORD, Conn. - Amrita Nigam Hutheesing, 77, of Stamford, formerly of Greenwich, died Friday, April 3.

She was the daughter of the Gertrud and Dr. Bhairo Prasad Nigam of London, England.

Hutheesing worked for a publishing house in London, the British Information Services and the United Nations in New York City during the 1950s.

She and her family moved to Greenwich in 1975. She was an active volunteer with Greenwich Public Schools, Greenwich Hospital and Stamford Hospital.

Survivors include three sons, Nikhil Hutheesing, Vivek Hutheesing, and Ravi Hutheesing; one brother, Arun Nigam of Hong Kong; three grandchildren; three nephews; and many relatives in Germany and India.

A private memorial service will be held in Greenwich in June.
