STAMFORD, Conn. -- Altamont (Al) G. Robinson, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 3, at home.
Robinson was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Kingston, Jamaica, son of James Robinson and Maud Thomas.
He worked as a machinist at Pitney Bowes for over 30 years. He enjoyed photography, music and storytelling.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria M. Robinson; two sons Anthony C. Robinson (wife Hyacinth) and Gerel Nezbitt-Robinson; two sisters, Margaret Robinson and Isabel Chamberlain; a brother, Oscar Chin-Loy; his former wife, Etta Robinson; two granddaughters, Keshia and Shakeena; and a host of nieces and nephews and their descendants.
A viewing will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, at 9 a.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1231 Washington Blvd., Stamford, with a service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Darien.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
