Alexander Zajkowski, 91, Longtime Stamford Resident, Worked For Electrolux

STAMFORD, Conn. - Alexander Zajkowski, long time resident of Stamford, died Sunday, May 5. He was 91.

Zajkowski was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Zawady, Poland to Adela (Grodzka) and Atanazy Zajkowski. He came to the United States from Poland in 1961. He became a naturalized United States citizen five years later. He worked as a technician for Electrolux Corporation for 30 years. He was a communicant at Holy Name of Jesus Church, and a member of the Holy Name Society and the Star of Liberty Society Lodge 803.

Zajkowski is survived by his son, Zygmunt Zajkowski (Linda); daughters, Helen Zajkowski, Christine Striano and Zenia Errico (Dominick), all of Stamford; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Bronislaw Zajkowski from Harrison, N.J.;  sister, Helen Babula from Peach Tree, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Poland. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Bronislawa (Wadolowska) Zajkowski; and brother, Sigmund Zajkowski.

Calling hours are Thursday, May 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 10 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Bosak Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 305 Washington Blvd., in Stamford. The committal service and interment will immediately follow Mass at Queen of Peace R.C. Cemetery in North Stamford.
