State Police said Meany died of severe head trauma. She was also hit by a car on I-95, but it's unclear whether she was already dead. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact manner and cause of death, police said.

I-95 was clogged for hours after the accident, with all lanes closed for a while, then two lanes closed for over two hours, DOT said.

The case remains an active investigation, police said.
