STAMFORD, Conn. A Stamford woman involved in an altercation outside the Discovery Café early Monday morning was charged with punching a Stamford police officer in the face.
Police responding to a report of a fight outside the café saw Karla Gomez jump onto a car. They said she appeared to be severely intoxicated and apparently had been arguing with an ex-boyfriend. Gomez punched one of the officers when he tried to get her off the car, police said.
She was charged with assaulting a police officer, interfering with an officer and second-degree breach of peace. She posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 12.

? Lorena Gutierrez, 28, of 78 Virgil St. in Stamford was arrested Monday morning for second-degree failure to appear, police said.
? Stacey Ann Johnson, 40, of New Haven, was arrested on Monday for not appearing, police said.
