Virginia Ann Baker, Worked at Westover School

STAMFORD, Conn. — Virginia Ann Baker, 65, died at Stamford Hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Known as “Ms. Ann” or “Ms. Bake,” she was born in Farmville, N.C., on May 6, 1946.

She worked as a nurse’s aide and a teacher’s aide at Westover Magnet Elementary School once she moved to Stamford.

Baker is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Baker; three sons, Tracey Baker, Ramion Baker and Kenneth Baker; two sisters, Shirley Jean Barrett and Mary V. Spell; four brothers, Milton Spell, William Spell, James Spell and Mitch Spell; and 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Lee Baker.

A memorial service will be held at the Downer Funeral Home in Stamford on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. Interment will be private.
