Three Drunken Stamford Men Arrested After Brawl

STAMFORD, Conn. — Three drunken Stamford men were arrested after getting into a fight on Stephens Street early Monday, police said.

The fight started when Guilson Perez-Najera, 22, of Stephens Street, wanted to stay out drinking, and Leonel Edgardo-Mejia, 23, of Myrtle Avenue, wanted to go home, police said. Hearing the commotion outside, Jose Perez-Mendez, 23, also of Stephens Street, came out with a knife to help protect Perez-Najera, who is his cousin, police said.

All three received minor scrapes and cuts during the scuffle, and Perez-Mendez broke a car window swinging the knife, police said. A woman with Perez-Najera and Edgardo-Mejia was driving the car, but she was not arrested, police said.

Perez-Najera and Edgardo-Mejia each were charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, police said. Perez-Mendez was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree criminal mischief, police said.

Also in the police blotter:
