A Mass for Stamford resident Temilda Diaz De Grandas will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedict/Our Lady of Montserrat Church, 1 St. Benedict Circle, Stamford. Grandas, who was 86, died Sept. 9 at Stamford Hospital.
Grandas was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Colombia. She considered her most important achievement to be the positive influence she had on her family. She leaves behind daughters Gladys Pardo of Old Greenwich, Aida Grandas of Bogota, Colombia, and Dolly and Luz Grandas, both of Stamford; sons Dr. Carlos H. Grandas of New York, Dr. Fernando Grandas of Illinois and Yesid Grandas of Stamford.
Besides always encouraging and supporting her family, she took pride in cooking excellent meals. Grandas was predeceased in 2009 by her husband, Carlos. In addition to her children, Grandas leaves a sister, Bertha Diaz of Bogota, Colombia, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.
