Stephen Kossluk, Retired Postal Worker

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated last week for Stamford resident Stephen Louis Kossluk, who served his country in the military and civilian life.

Kossluk died Oct. 15 at age 84 after an extended illness. He was born Nov. 13, 1925. He served in the military from 1944 to 1946 as a member of Company A, 276th Infantry, 70th Division. He then worked in the U.S. Postal Service. After retiring, Kossluk spent his days with favorite hobbies, gardening, visiting the casino and watching sports.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ellen Kossluk and his sister, Sophie Portanova.

He is survived by his children Stephen Kossluk of Milford, Paul Kossluk of Oregon and Nancy Murphy of Norwalk; sister Mary Arslanian of Arizona; and seven grandchildren.
