Stamford Woman Who Lost Family In Fatal Fire Finds New Purpose

STAMFORD, CONN. -- In an exclusive interview with NBC Connecticut, Madonna Badger said two causes are helping her deal with the grief of losing her parents and three daughters in a 2011 fire that destroyed her Stamford home.

One of those causes for the New York City advertising executive is seeking out answers in that fatal fire. She has taken legal action against Stamford city officials to challenge the ruling that misplaced fireplace ashes sparked the blaze, saying it appeared instead to be an electrical fire that started in the basement, NBC Connecticut reports.

Her other cause is the recent release of a video supporting her #WomenNotObjects campaign. Badger, a partner Badger and Winters, a Fifth Avenue advertising firm, says ads these days go too far in exploiting women's bodies and sex, NBC Connecticut says.
