Stamford Swimming Holes Closing For The Summer

STAMFORD, Conn. — If you want to swim at Cummings Beach with lifeguards on duty you better hurry up and do it, as Stamford Recreation plans on closing the beach Thursday.

Cummings will be the third public swimming area to be closed for the summer this month as Quigley Beach at Cove Island Park recently closed, and Dorothy Heroy Pool was closed Aug. 17, according to the Stamford Recreation website.

The recreation website did not mention if or when West Beach will close prior to Labor Day Weekend, the symbolic last weekend of the summer. It also did not mention if beach stickers still are needed; originally it was reported they were needed until Sept. 30.
