STAMFORD, Conn. - Stamford’s California Pizza Kitchen will participate in a fundraiser in honor of Dawn Hochsprung, the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School who was among those killed in the December shootings.
The Dawn Hochsprung Memorial Fund is a scholarship given to students from her hometown high school who are planning to pursue college, according to the fund’s website. It was created by her family to help fill Hochsprung’s mission of educating children.
All three Connecticut restaurant locations are participating in the fundraiser, which will donate 20 percent of checks to the memorial fund on Friday, March 8. Purchases include dine-in, takeout, catering and all beverages, according to California Pizza Kitchen.
The Stamford location is in the Stamford Town Center, 230 Tresser Blvd., and will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. the day of the fundraiser.
Other ways to contribute to the Dawn Hochsprung Memorial Fund include donating through the Waterbury CT Teachers Federal Credit Union, online, or by purchasing a “What Would Dawn Do” bracelet.
