STAMFORD, Conn – With around 7.5 inches of snow and a wind chill advisory in effect, the city of Stamford has opened more than a dozen warming centers.
The wind chill advisory is in effect until 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4. Warming centers are located across the city, each with different hours of operation:
- Stamford Government Center Lobby: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.) 888 Washington Blvd.
- YMCA : Friday an Saturday (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) 909 Washington Blvd,
- Chester Addison Community Center: Friday (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) 245 Selleck St.
- Union Baptist Church: Friday (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.) 805 Newfield Ave.
- Central Fire Headquarters: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. - 6 p.m.) 629 Main St.
- South End Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.) 215 Washington Blvd
- West Side Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. – 6 p.m). 80 Fairfield Ave.
- East Side/Shippan Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. – 6.p.m.)
- Woodside Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.) 1600 Washington Blvd.
- Belltown Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m.– 6 p.m.) 8 Dorlen Road
- Long Ridge Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.) 366 Long Ridge Road.
- Sprindale Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a m.- 6 p.m.) 987 Hope St.
- Turn of River Fire Station: Friday and Saturday (8 a.m.-6 p.m.) Buxton Farms Road
