STAMFORD, Conn. -- A winning symbol match on a $1,000,000 Jackpot ticket turned Stamford resident Adil Nagiev instantly into a top prize winner, CT Lottery announced on its website.

Nagiev bought his scratch-off ticket at For Your Convenience at 135 Prospect St. in Stamford on his way to the $1 million top prize.

Paresh Patel, owner of For Your Convenience, was ecstatic when he learned of the sale.

“I finally got a $1 million winner,” Patel said. “I’m just so blown away. Anytime my customers play lottery I always tell them, ‘Your win is my success.’”

Given the choice between the game’s $1 million 20-year annuity prize or the cash lump sum value prize, Nagiev opted for the lump sum in a check for $790,900, before taxes, lottery officials said.

For selling the winning ticket, For Your Convenience will receive a $10,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
