Timothy F. Anderson, 43, twice had been declared incapable of understanding the murder charges against him, The Stamford Advocate reported.

However, Anderson’s lawyer is demanding he again be evaluated for his state of mind during the attack on his mother, the Stamford Advocate story said.

Maryann Anderson suffered severe head injuries, including significant brain bleeding when she was beaten March 23, 2015.

Anderson originally was charged with assault, but that charge was elevated to murder after his mother was taken off a ventilator and she died just three days after the attack.

Police said the assault began when Anderson grabbed and punched his mother after she confronted him about not taking his medication.
