STAMFORD, Conn. — A new railroad station may be coming to Stamford at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and East Main Street.
The Southwest Regional Planning Agency and its group of consultants have completed their East Main Street Transit Node Feasibility Study, and have decided that a new rail station is the preferred option. The group will be explaining its reasoning Thursday night at a public meeting at the government center.
“Be a part of the long?term planning for economic and community development in your neighborhood,” the flier for the meeting said.
The study was a federally funded project through the Sustainable Communities Initiative, a joint program of the U.S. Housing and Urban Development and Transportation departments and the federal Environmental Protection Agency.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., and translation services will be provided.
