STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford-based Inspirica is looking for more than 500 holiday gifts by Dec. 14. The organization has been looking for people to sponsor needy children since Nov. 5, and is striving to provide more than 2,500 children with personalized gifts for the holiday. There are 526 children still in need of sponsors, according to a news release from Inspirica, which provides services for the homeless.
“Through this program, we hope to alleviate that emotional stress of poverty on these children – the stress of feeling forgotten,” Holiday Gift Collection Manager Emily A.J. Hammond, said in the release.
It is the 23rd year Inspirica has run the Holiday Gift Collection.
People can sponsor children, donate money or gifts, or volunteer their help.
Here is a list of toys Inspirica is looking for. Any excess donations will go to other programs the organization runs.
Donations can be dropped off at Inspirica, 141 Franklin St., through Dec. 14.
