Stamford CEO Shown Abusing Dog In Surveillance Video From Hotel

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man who is the chief executive officer of a North American catering company for major league sports teams is being accused of animal abuse, according to Global News of British Columbia .

Global News says the British Columbia SPCA was investigating a surveillance video shot in an elevator of the Private Residences at Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, showing an unidentified man kicking a dog several times.

Global News identifies the man as Desmond Hague of Stamford, chief executive officer of Centerplate Inc., which has contracts with many teams from the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, the National Basketball Association and Major League Soccer.

Hague released a statement to Global News, apologizing for his actions.

The dog involved was Sade, a doberman pinscher that is less than a year old.

No charges have been filed in the case.
