Residents Slam Possibility Of Return Of Tolls To Connecticut

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Residents attended a public legislative hearing in Hartford held by the General Assembly's Transportation Committee to voice their disapproval of proposed electronic tolls at the state borders, according to newstimes.com.

Residents slammed the idea, saying it would cause a spike in local traffic by those looking to dodge the toll booths and would increase the prices of deliveries for businesses, newstimes.com reported. 

Electronic tolls were proposed as a way to help fund Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's ambitious $100 billion transportation infrastructure overhaul, newstimes.com said.
