Report: Stamford Pilot Killed In Medical Plane Crash In New York

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man was the pilot of a volunteer medical flight that crashed Friday in a wooded area of central New York west of Albany, the Stamford Advocate reported online

John Campbell, 70, was flying a brain cancer patient and his wife back from treatment in the Boston area, authorities said Sunday.

Campbell was volunteer pilot for Angel Flight, a nonprofit group that arranges free air transportation for the sick.
