STAMFORD, Conn. Jerry Springer, Maury Povich and Steve Wilkos will have to make some room for NBCUniversals newest daytime talk show host, Trisha Goddard, whose show Trisha will become the fourth to be taped at the Stamford Media Center, a press release said.
In each hourlong episode, Goddard will attempt to help families get through problems they are struggling with, the release said. The show is expected to appeal to women with a straight talk with a no-excuses mentality, the release said.
We look forward to welcoming Trisha to the Stamford Media Center family and building on the success we've had in Stamford, Barry Wallach, president of NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution, said in the release.
The new show is expected to add about 50 jobs to the city, which may be increased if necessary, expanding the current staff of 230 at the Stamford Media Center, the release said. It also will bring 1,000 audience members to the downtown area weekly, the release said.
Since moving The Jerry Springer Show, The Steve Wilkos Show and Maury to Stamford in April of 2009, NBCUniversal has spent some $23 million with local Connecticut vendors in a variety of fields, including construction, cleaning, restaurants, and others, the release said. The shows have attracted more than 160,000 audience members in that time.
Were thrilled that NBCUniversal plans to expand its operations at the Stamford Media Center, underscoring Stamfords growing attraction as a media hub, Mayor Michael Pavia said in the release.
